Merry Christmas!

I love Christmas! It's so good to be reminded of the C's coming. The ultimate gift. The Christmas carols, the hot apple cider, the family and friends, Christmastime rocks! We are blessed beyond measure with the love of friends and family. It is my pr. that this Christmas season we would all find G sowing peace in our hearts.
It will be 2008 soon, the year has flown by. In reflection it has been full of progress and change. Mindy and I are now on track to serve with a great organization. We made the move back to the Sacramento area and Mindy began to work as an RN. Through it all He has been faithful. To our friends and family: G bless you and Merry Christmas!

Welcoming Autumn

Fall in Rocklin, CA is a wonderful thing. The oaks in the park are dropping acorns like there's no tomorrow, the leaves are changing, the air is fresh and full of pleasant smells. There's no better place to enjoy the onset of fall than up at Apple Hill. Kyle and Natalie came up from socal to visit and that's where we went. The fresh apple cider and the tri-tip sandwiches made for a memorable trip. We count it a wonderful blessing to have friends like Kyle and Natalie. The latest news is that our home fellowship has officially adopted Mindy and I as workers of the harvest! This has been such a blessing feeling the support of our home congregation. G. is good and is working things out for his purposes. I have been filling up with boatloads of encouragement as of late reading through a book about abiding by Andrew Murray. The blessings seem to fall onto my lap off of each page. I have found a new fervor in resting in Him, abiding in Him. It has been a reawakening of sorts in my heart, PTL for His work in us! Mindy is still adjusting at work and has been discouraged at times, please pray for strength. She had the chance to visit her great friend Esther in Cour d'elane Idaho last weekend. She called me Sunday as she ate lunch on the rocky shore of a lake nestled in the hills outside of town. She came home encouraged and revived. It is good to witness G's faithfulness as we abide in C. Thank you for your friendship.

Birthday at Horsetail falls

Jeremiah and I celebrated my birthday and the beginning of fall with a rigorous hike up to desolation wilderness. The beauty and grandeur of the mountains was refreshing to our souls. As we walked along the forest floor was cool and calm, the leaves crunching beneath our feet. I must say that I have the most amazing and adventurous husband, but what I treasure most is how he takes his time in the wilderness, breathing in each detail and enjoying the peacefull creation. We sat by the river on a smooth sunbaked granite slab and read. How revitalizing the Word is and the water all around us reminded us of how our hearts are cleansed, we are healed and our thirst is quenched by His grace. He will carry on the work that He began in us to completion and we are excited about that.

Hume Lake With The College Group

Mindy and I just spent four incredible days with college students at Hume Lake. We began to get involved in the college group in the middle of August and this retreat was the perfect opportunity to get to know the group. We are excited to be where we are. We both have felt the hand of G. moving in us to bring us to this place. Mindy is nearing the completion of her orientation at the hospital in Roseville and is beginning to spread her nursing wings. With the compassion and kindness that flows out of her I can see why G. has led her into nursing. PTL! His goodness and Love remind me to trust. The leaky head gasket on my car also reminds me to trust. We will choose to trust in Him no matter what happens. I am full of excitement as He guides us and we learn to follow hard after Him.

RACE

It was an amazing week in Philadelphia. Jeremiah and I met some incredible people and lasting friendships were made. We were stretched and challenged and encouraged all at the same time. We feel honored to be appointed for future work overseas. The journey has just begun and we are excited to see what comes next. And of course you all want to know if we had a Philly Cheese Steak and yes we did, more than once actually, because they are sooo good. It's probably best that we don't have access to them on a daily basis. And by the way, the liberty bell isn't all its cracked up to be. :)

First Post

So Mindy and I have decided that we would begin a blog to keep all our friends and family informed about us. Mindy passed her test! She is now a registered Nurse. I'm very proud. So it is three days until our trip to Philadelphia to attend RACE. We'll be moving up to Sac a few days after we return from Philadelphia. We've got a lot to be thankful for as everything seems to be coming together. Hope you enjoy the blog.
